NESN Chuckles As Red Sox Buckle

Wake_Rain.jpg

In general, I like Don Orsillo. He’s got a baseball voice, calls a good game, and graduated from my alma mater, Northeastern University. Gotta like him, right? And, Sean Casey was one of the most engaging Red Sox players to come along since Kevin Millar. Good guy.

But last night, as the Red Sox “coughed it up at Kaufman”, the NESN play-by-play team was positively giddy!  As Manny “What the heck am I doing in the Major Leagues” Delcarmen (inexplicably called upon by Tito) gave up  4 runs, the boys in the booth were yukking it up like the Red Sox were still comfortably ahead. I’m sure I wasn’t the only fan sitting at home about to throw a shoe through the TV! And, I’m guessing Theo and the Trio weren’t all that pleased.
Guys, word of advice, when the Red Sox are giving up a “silver platter” victory to a AAA team while the Yankees are losing, don’t make it seem like open mike night at Catch A Rising Star. Think about the millions of fans who are fuming while you make funny. And stop it already!
